On the evening of Friday, 26 May, the Annual Dinner returned to the Village Hotel for a third time and was attended by a larger number of ODs than on the two previous occasions at this venue.
The evening began with the formal inauguration of our new President, Hywel Davies (Year of 1967), who paid warm tribute to the sterling work of his predecessor, David Taylor. For the first time since before Covid-19, a guest speaker was featured in the proceedings and our MC, Stuart Batcup, had the pleasure of introducing a humorous offering by the former Wales and British Lions front row forward, Graham Price. Our thanks go to Alun Griffiths for making possible Graham’s appearance at our Dinner.
We are grateful to our Dinner organisers, Keith Ferguson and Jeff Vaughan, for another successful evening and we would wish to thank Keith, who will be stepping down from his duties this year, for all his hard work during the period in which he has been organising this important event in the ODA calendar.
