The Annual Dinner returned on 17 May this year to the Village Hotel in SA1 where our acting MC, the Rev John Walters, ably oversaw the installation by Hywel Davies of his successor, Andrew Clemes, M.A. Law (Oxon), as this year’s ODA President.
With thanks to the good offices of Alan Griffiths, we again welcomed a guest speaker and this year we had the pleasure of the company of rugby broadcaster and former Ospreys coach, Sean Holley. We were entertained by a light-hearted account of the ups and downs in Sean’s distinguished rugby career and a raffle was held in the course of the evening to support the Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff, of which he has for some time been a significant supporter.
Our sincere thanks go once more to our principal Annual Dinner organiser, Jeff Vaughan, for his industry, diligence and care in organising another successful evening, and also to Margaret Llewelyn for the kind help she has given us this year in processing bookings received in advance of the Dinner.
